Hahaha. Not really. But yes. If the system had been further developed to be more than a random noise generator, it could have made the cinema experience a truly immersive thing.
This really rekindled my desire to go to Universal Studios too. Though I'm sad to see that they've replaced so many of their dark rides with ridiculous coasters and thrill rides :/
Wow, that sounds kind of trippy! It also reminds me of a film experience attraction that they had at my local theme park when I was a kid - it was like a little dome and the screen kind of stretched all around the inside of the dome? Does that make sense? You were supposed to stand up in the middle of the room and watch these film clips, and they were all first person views of various things like skydiving, deep water diving, rollercoasters ... those sort of things. The experience would always trigger my motion sickness something fierce XD There was no 3D or physical effects, but the dome shaped screen, and the films themselves made it feel like you were experiencing what was on screen. It was bizarre.
