There's Never Enough Time for Anything

I've got so many plans about things I want to do. I find it difficult to get started, because it's like each plan cancels each other out, and all I'm left with is work and whatever house chores I'm able to do before falling asleep. It's a bit of a shame, really, so I've realised I need a plan in order to make this work.

Things:

Study more Japanese and do either N3 or N2 of the JLPT next year
- I passed the old level 3 of the JLPT back in 2007, I've mostly been studying on my own since then, and I have no clue where I'm at in the scheme of things. It doesn't help that the JLPT changed in the mean time. I know they've just added a new level, but I'm still not sure if I'm ready for level 2 or not. I've bought complete set of textbooks for N3 and N2, so I feel ready to really get down to business with this. I never seem to find time to really get any studying done, though.

Clean out the flat
- I live in a one room flat. A one room flat with a loft space that has functioned as a storage space ever since we moved in. It's now crammed full of stuff, a lot of which can be given away or sold to people who actually want or need it. I'll probably post stuff here that I wouldn't mind shipping overseas. I probably won't ask any money for it, but it would be nice if you'd pay for the shipping, maybe. We'll see how this works out, it's definitely a long term project. And a project I'm really having difficulties finding time for.

Stay healthy
- I didn't do any running while I was in Japan, but on the other hand I was on my feet walking for at least 7~8 hours every single day, so that wasn't really a problem. I always figured I'd continue running when I got back home, but then I got back home and remembered that Norwegian autumns are brutal and in no way am I going to subject myself to running outside in freezing wind and rain. I bought a fancy little pedometer during my last day in Japan, and I'm kind of shocked at how little I move about on a regular weekday. Since I'm stuck at work for 8 hours, there's just not much time to get any walking (or running) done.

The pedometer is really nifty, though. It's an Omron Calori Scan HJA-311.

It features NFC technology which means that I can tap it against a USB dock and transfer all my logs instantly to an online service called WellnessLINK. It works perfectly and is just a lot of fun, really. There's also an Android app that works seamlessly with the device, but I don't have an Android phone anymore, so 8D;;; I don't feel like I'm missing out on any functionality, though.

The device calculates how many calories you burn off during the day - this number will never be 100% correct of course, but it's a nice guideline anyway. The device assumes you consume within the guideline daily amounts. When you sign up for WellnessLINK, you're asked to input what you'd like your weight to be after 30 days. So I entered something that seemed feasible (though I assumed I'd be running regularly at that point). The service calculated (based on my height, weight, and desired weight loss) that I need to burn off 2018 calories a day in order to reach my goal.
I've been able to meet that goal once or twice. Lol. I seem to end up on 1800 or so, on regular weekdays at any rate. I'd love to go for longer walks after work, but the weather is just so dreadful :/ I usually end up on a little over 10.040 steps walked, which is about 6~7km according to my WellnessLINK logs.

The little pudding icons appear the day after you've reached your goal, but only if you've managed to burn off 100 calories more than your target (so I need to reach 2118 in order to get one pudding icon the next day). I got a pudding icon one day, and it cheered me up a lot more than I thought it would. It's the little things! XD

The plan:
Study Japanese two days a week after work at my favourite cafe. Focus on grammar and kanji one day, then vocabulary and listening skills the other day. I figure I can do reading exercises during lunch at work.

Do bursts of cleaning during the weekends or nights when I can't sleep/days I'm high on energy (which is EXTREMELY RARE during autumn/winter :( )

WALK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE I GUESS, LOL.

FIND MORE TIME FOR VIDEO GAMES SOMEHOW?

HALP.
