Tokyo Disneyland - Day 29: Your favourite aspect of Tokyo Disneyland

Dec 26, 2011 11:53

It's got to be the people. Disneyland is one if those places that's described as a "no place", as in, the park will always feel the same no matter which park you go to, but I think every Disneyland fan will disagree with this statement. Even if the parks are constructed to look and feel the same, they really don't. Cultural differences seep in through merch, customer service, food, and general attitude.

The spirit of Disneyland's cheerful "happiest place on earth" works very well with the general Japanese customer service. Their smiles, and rushing about to find what you're looking for/making sure you've got everything you need doesn't feel out of place or forced, since this is practically common practice no matter what store you're in. So when they go that extra mile to put an extra wide smile on your face, well... You can't help but feel right at home.

And the whole practice of waving at other guests/attraction operators. So much fun :D

You're allowed to be a kid at Disneyland, and no one will stop you if you bounce around like a five year old high on sugar. We all act the same anyway. Except, perhaps, for the tired dads who take the opportunity to have a solid nap. XD that would be a fun photo project. Just taking pictures of everyone who's napping at Disneyland. More people than you'd think! Even I've napped at Disneyland xD
