Disney On Ice

In case you weren't aware of it already, I'm a huge Disney dork. Aaand when you live in a country with no Disney theme parks or official Disney stores to go to, you have to patiently wait for Disney to come to you ;)

I've been to Disney On Ice twice before. I've seen Peter Pan and Pinocchio (shows which were discontinued in '92-'93, so quite a while ago xD;;;). I remember being absolutely spellbound. I loved the costumes, and the big funky props, and it also made me interested in figure skating~~~

The show we saw tonight is called Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey, and is currently the longest running Disney On Ice show. It features numbers from The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, and Peter Pan.

Which of course meant that I got to relive parts of a show I absolutely loved as a kid, iiiih ♥

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I was super excited, but also aware of the fact that this is a show primarily aimed at little kids xD;; I wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but I did! I enjoyed the second act a lot more than the first, though. The first act sort of rushed through The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Lilo and Stitch. Good performers and good selection of numbers and such, but I felt like something was missing ^^; Second act was all Peter Pan, and it was awesome :O I guess partly because this used to be a longer show, they already had a full script for it with lots of numbers to use... it just felt more complete and there was a steady narrative there and everything. Good stuff.

There's a sequence where Peter Pan chases after his shadow, and the shadow's costume was really well made. It really looked like... a shadow xD;; So much fun. And the performers had even memorized some of the Norwegian phrases, so that they could mime them correctly and such ♥ Such a blast from the past for me, though. All the same costumes and props! Lots of inner child squee for me :DD

Tinkerbell was an absolute flirt. She made me laugh, ahahha :D Every time her spotlight went out, she'd turn towards the nearest audience member, do little waves, and blow kisses and such. Heeeee. She was adorable.

Wendy fell over once .___. I felt so bad for her. It looked painful, awwww.

Mr. Smee did a backflip. *_*! Looked so dangerous and cool and omg.

And, and, and I got to relive something that used to give me nightmares as a kid! Captain Hook gets eaten by a crocodile at the end, and this is done in the show as well. A huuuuuuge inflated crocodile appears on the ice and eats Captain Hook. This freaked the hell out of me as a kid T_______T! It was funny to see it again, and see how harmless it all was. Ahahhaha omg. I was such a spazzy, nervous kid ♥ XDDD

Can't go to Disney On Ice without buying silly, overpriced merchandise ^^;; A very fancy Tinkerbell wand... thing! Wheee! :D *is a child*

You can fly, you can fly, you can fly! And they did! 8] Love that Big Ben prop ♥

Tick-tock, tick-tock. The crocodile that scared the crap out of me as a kid! Ahahahaha you have to admit, it is enormous @_@!!

Have more pictures, but due to the lighting and everything they are quite blurry. Here are some thumbnails, click for HUGE! :D

I think I want to go again next year. I've already asked my mum if she wants to come along ^___^
