A pretty amusing picture of me and my mum from last night. Haha ♥
I took my mum to see Taube, the current show running at Edderkoppen. I didn't really know what to expect, I'd caught parts of the last number before intermission at work before, and that didn't really leave me with a good impression, but goodness! The show is amazing. Completely different from last year's Sound of Music. This is more like musical theatre than a musical. There is a subtle difference, I swear. I loved how the show managed to grab me even though I don't really know anything about Evert Taube or his songs (which the play is based on). Feels good to have seen the show. It'll be easier to be enthusiastic towards the guests at work now that I know what they're there to see.
Christian, my mum, and I all went and had dinner afterwards. Was waited on by a Swede, made lame jokes about how Oslo's service industry has been taken over by Swedes... then again they do tend to be better at delivering good service so I don't really know why we joke about it... For instance, this Swedish waiter last night knocked 144kr ($25) off of our tab, because he thought we'd gotten cruddy service o_o! It was amazing. We were thinking about complaining about our sodas, because they tasted like water, and we did wait a long time for our food to arrive... but hey that's what going out usually is like. Was such a shock to have someone say "Hey, you know what... I feel pretty bad about this, so I'm going to give you free sodas and a 25% discount on all the food you ordered". Awesome~~~
