I haven't had a haircut since before I went to Japan (!!!). In other words I've been way overdue for one for ages, so today I went and did something about it.
I went around thinking I'd love to do something wild again. I mean, showing up at school with extremely short, pink hair is one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done. In regards to my looks, anyway. But I was talked out of it by my cute Asian hair dresser. She liked the length of my hair, and convinced me that the best thing would be to get some layers in and poof it up a bit. I agreed and let her do her thing. Didn't know what to think about it when I paid. I wouldn't say I was unhappy with the result, but I guess I felt a bit bummed because I originally wanted a massive change.
I feel good now, though. I've been playing around with my new hairstyle and it's made me realise that this is the first time I've actually gotten a medium/long hairstyle after a visit to the hairdresser. Every time I've been stuck with long hair it's always been dull and lifeless, and always a result of neglect from my part (not going to the hairdresser when I should have, and therefore having cute, short hairstyles evolve into something wild and unmanageable). No wonder I've come to hate long hair. Maybe this will make me change my mind? Time will tell.
