Jasper didn’t understand the point of imprinting. He would never tell Seth that of course. The boy was too happy for him to say anything against the pointless connection. Now… would they have still been friends without it? Probably not.
The only reason he had agreed to the friendship was because he couldn’t stand the thought of another life ending on his hands. But now… Jasper sighed as he looked at Seth’s still form on the bed. Seth’s life was on his hands again, not that he had caused the injuries Seth had gotten but he had been the reason for them.
“It’s not your fault,” Edward said softly from the doorway.
“Tell that to Seth,” Jasper replied.
“I don’t have to. He doesn’t think it’s your fault he’s hurt either.”
“He doesn’t?”
Edward shook his head. “I can see it in his dreams.”
“Why did he do it Edward? I didn’t want him to.”
“Commitment,” Edward said simply.
