“You really should come downstairs Jazz,” Alice said as she fell next to him on their bed. “The wolves are behaving.”
“They still hate us,” he stated glancing at her. “I can feel that quite clearly.”
“Not all of them,” she replied. Alice pulled her digital camera out and started going through the pictures. “Aren’t you even the least bit curious as to what they actually look like?”
Alice gave him an impish grin as she dangled the camera from its cord on one finger. The camera swung back and forth, teasing him. Jasper watched the camera, an almost hungry look growing in his eyes.
“Oh give it here!” He exclaimed grabbing the camera from her finger. Alice laughed her tinkling little laugh as she sat up and leaned against his shoulder as he scanned through the photographs.
“That’s Sam,” she said pointing to the alpha. “Jared, Paul, Embry, Quil, Jacob, Leah, Colin, Brady…”
Jasper stopped on the last picture. He stared at the smiling face hard. If his heart had still beat it would have been pounding. “And this… who is this?” He questioned. In his mind he knew who this last wolf was, since Alice had named them all but one. But he needed to hear her say it.
“That cutie is Seth, Leah’s little brother,” Alice answered with a smile. “Don’t you think he’s cute Jazz?” She gave a soft gasp as he looked up and his darkened golden gaze met her bright one. His future disappeared from her sight.
Jasper glanced at the digital photograph once more. A sort of predatory grin appeared on his lips as he stood. “Yes, I do. And I think I need to see more than just a photograph.”
