What, why take poetry classes when what to do is write until you understand it yourself. This means to write of your own accord and for your own sake, right? Not because due Friday there is a political sonnet. . . I mean you have to either always want to write or you have to make yourself YOURSELF. Not hire a personal trainer in the form of Robert Kelly who doesn't care anyway.
What am I saying is clear. Besides which you really don't want the kind of feedback a poetry class offers. You don't want a more acceptable product.
I mean, you may have this great teacher, but if they're telling you all this change and you're doing it, you're doing it wrong.
Annoying! But I know what poetry workshops are good for. Editing.
