been a while, hasn't it?

I promised Ellen I'd try to write more here, because for those of you whose only contact with me is through this thing, we left off several months ago when I was miserable. It is several months later, I am no longer miserable, and I live in Chicago, which is probably the reason. (How can anyone ever be happy in Minnesota? Worst state in the country, for serious.)

Anyway, my summer job involves curing cancer with my computer. Just saving the world, no big, really.

Chi-tonw is pretty sweet overall. The pizza is fabulous, which is important to me, and the grocery store down the street sells steaks for ONE FREAKING DOLLAR if I get back from work before they're all sold out. This is also important to me. I have become very good at making the meal called "rice, steamed broccoli, and some sort of meat cooked in olive oil and shit-tons of garlic salt", which means I will probably be a fatty again by the time most of you see me. Whatevs, it's fuckin' delicious.

I'm trying to do cultured things, but it's hard because work makes me very tired. We drove through the Puerto Rican festival, which involved a lot of honking horns, sno-cones and eventually a stabbing murder. We also went to a Greek festival which consisted entirely of food, awkward dancing and a bouncy castle for the offspring. I'm going to Taste of Chicago today to eat some goat, and then later either the zoo or a marathon of "Is She Really Going Out With Him" on MTV. Leaning heavily toward the latter. I wish anyone here would go to a baseball game with me, but it looks like I'm going to have to do that on my own.

So anyway, that's my life these days. Since I never really think in more than one sentence at a time these days, I got a Twitter, so if you're all up in there look me up (screenname: koalafaces). That's all. How are you?
