Toronto Political Events

There are two very exciting events coming up in Toronto.

First is a benefit screening of "The Take" a film by Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein, which my friend Dave Meslin also helped with. I've been awaiting the release of this movie since Mez told me about it, now not only do I get to see it but both Avi and Naomi will be there for the screening. The movie is about Argentinian workers who take back their idle factory and make it worker controlled and owned. If you would like to learn more about it visit http://www.thetake.org.

The Screening is Oct. 25th at 7:30pm at the Varsity Cinema in the Manulife Centre as a benefit for the Centre for Social Justice and the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty. $12

Second, Noam Chomsky will be coming to the University of Toronto on Nov. 21st to speak about "The Imperial Presidency". Tickets are $20 and benefit the Canadian Dimension Magazine.

For ticket info to both visit http://www.socialjustice.org/
