Michelle Bachman tried to be the new McCarthy
Michelle Bachman asked that the news media do an exposé on "unamerican" members of the US Senate and House of Representatives. When called on it and condemned for such statements, she blamed it as a prompting by MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews. I had listened to the interview, and it sounded to me a lot like a new Senator McCarthy in the making, and several times, Chris Matthews offered her a way out of the noose that she was crafting for herself, but she insisted on continuing.
The same accusation can be leveled against Sarah Palin for blathering on about "Real America", leaving the strong impression that anyone that doesn't agree with her views must not be part of "Real America". Another in a long string of outrageous, twisted and disingenuous accusations. Good going.
