My Adventures in the Big Apple (and Boston)
OKay so this is going to be a suppper long update on my six day trip to
New York City and Boston. well actually, i took some pictures in New
Jersey and Connecticut too but the story mostly takes place in those
two cities.
DAY ONE: so when i left the
airport with yuri, jiyoung (me minus the n! my sistaaa) and jon
(jiyoung's boyfriend) took us to this place called ariyoshi, located in
queens. it's the place where spiderman lived with his aunt and uncle!!
well i absolutely adore ariyoshi cause they have really good japanese
food for sooo cheap! for four people it came out to be 30 bucks and we
ate like piGGS! and then we went to my sister's place in flushing and
just slept there
DAY TWO: omg, this day, i can't
believe how much we got done. i'm just gonna list it the places we've
gone: battery park, looked at statue of liberty, century 21, ground
zero where twin towers were, soho, nyu, chinatown, columbus circle
mall, bloomingdales (in the rich ppl place), patsies, serendipity,
empire state building (SUPER LONG LINE) and then finally home. CAN YOU
BELIEVE THAT??!? we did all that in one day. the funniest thing
happened in chinatown. we went there to buy yuri's mom a fake wallet
and so we went in this shop. and this chinese guy was like, "COACH,
LOUIS VUITTON?" and we said "yeah." so he took us all the way to the
back of the store and opened a hidden door into this backroom where all
this fake stuff are. it kind of reminded me of those people you see on
tv with the big coats who go "psttt you want some gold watches?" and
then the pull open there coats and all these gold watches pop out. oh
yeah, after all that, we were walking in 90-100 degree weather for
hours and hours and we were completely exhausted. so when we went to
columbus circle, it was an absolute dream. i opened the door and a gust
of cold air came out. i felt like... i was finally saved and relieved
of all pain. it was so cold that when i got a drink i got a brain
freeze and actually put a jacket on there. yes but that was the story
there, and i don't like NYU campus very much, it's toooo city, doesn't
even look like a college. but at the end of the day, i was SO dead
tired.

DAY THREE: i was still
exhausted as hell the next day. well, it wasn't so bad. we went to get
pizza (i think, i can't remember if it was the day before). and then we
got some jamba juice and headed over towards the metropolitan museum.
it's gorgeous inside there. there are so many paintings and artwork
that you wouldn't think would be there. i mean they are incredibly
famous and i thought they would only be in european museums. anywhoos,
there was also a chanel exhibit there which was alright. afterwards, we
walked through the sweltering heat in central park. but it was still
really nice and we walked through several places where so many scenes
were shot. and according to my sister, there is an arch that is always
displayed in the intervals of friends.
so that was really interesting to look at. oh yeah, and i think i also
saw the church in sex and the city in that one episode... but i'm not
really sure. we also went to times square into the toys r' us. OMG they
got so much batman begins stuff~~!! i was so excited!! well after that,
we... went to go eat at gamiyok in koreatown. and then we went home
cause i was pretty damn tired and sleepy. oh, and i think we watched
hide and seek and yuri and i ended up sleeping at 530 cause we were
talking till then. hide and seek is such a scary movie. i hate dakota
fanning.

DAY FOUR: went to visit the
barnard and columbia campus. had a special tour from my sistaa,
inyoung. it was soo nice, the campus is absolutely beautiful but the
weather is sooo CRAPPY! i'm sorry, haha. and new york is too busy for
this laid back cali gal. seriously, del mar has spoiled me so much. i'm
too used to the sunshine, beach, people, and GREAT weather. i DO need
to experience the real world but i think i'm making a comprimise with
boston! well, afterwards, we went into HARLEM to my sister's apartment.
she has two yorkshire terriers and they are SOOO cute! i reallly want a
dog now. then we went to new jersey, got some grubb at cheesecake
factory, and then went to piola (a little cafe that sells the best
green tea shake, right next to the hudson river), and then we went to
this park where all this duck shit was.

DAY FIVE: off to boston!! 3-4
hour drive. we visited boston university which i am soooo in love with!
i'm totally applying there~! and then we went to quincy market. OMG,
there are like over 5 colleges in boston. boston is such a college
town.... AND THERE SO MANY HOTTIES THERE! i am so going there~!!

DAY SIX: ate brunch at newbury
street? i think it's called that. and it's a really cute store. boston
kind of reminds me of a combination between encinitas and downtown san
diego minus the beach. well after all that junk, we went to boston
college!! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! i'm going to apply early there. after
that, we headed back to nyc. yuri had to leave that day to stay with
her friend. so after jon, jiyoung, inyoung and i dropped her off, we
went to hanjibak? whatevers something korean. it had pretty good food.
came back, i only slept 3 hours, was dead tired. so today which is day
eight i suppose, i slept 11 hours. HEHE that was my day. oh and today
ver and i went to la jolla and chilled. i missed my friends and san
diego. i love traveling but
everytime i come back, i just smile because i get a new appreciation of
the sunny city i'd like to call my home, san diego.
