The Planned Parenthood in Aurora IL (only blocks from my museum!) is under fire for trying to keep its doors open. I am fully enraged.
The obstruction of reason is what pisses me off the most. Why would anyone, ANYONE, say that a clinic that provides solid, necessary health-care at a low cost to the patient is a greedy scam corrupted further by people who only want to hurt the poor?
Why would anyone think that Planned Parenthood is EVIL only because they perform abortions, whereas the other services they provide do far more for the prevention of abortion than any pro-lifers picketing in front of people's homes at 5 am?
Why would anyone get up to picket a house owned by a stranger, at 5 am because the stranger happened to pour concrete for an organization that provides such services as free STI testing and low-cost pre-natal healthcare to women who hardly ever get to see a doctor anyway?

Tomorrow there is a pro-PP rally at the clinic. I told my mom I was going and that second-wave Leaguer brought out her old protest materials! She hooked me up with big posterboard and huge markers that, I swear to god, look like they were made in the early eighties.
I am so FUCKING PUMPED TO STEP UP AND SAY SOMETHING.
My cousin John will be covering the rally for the chicago socialist paper, and my friend sherri will be there. She heard about the rally from ANI DiFRANCO. I guess Ani told everyone at the concert to show up at the rally tomorrow, which, of course, means everyone at that concert is going to be there. Unless they're still pissed she sleeps with men. But I digress.
I am so excited I can't go to sleep yet I'm so ready to go jump around for a cause I believe in!!!!!
