well it seems as though my prayers have finally been answered.
i got a job. EDIT: I got two jobs.
actually, it looks like i got two jobs and it looks like i can actually work both of them and be able to make a living wage. job one, which i started today, is at the modern school of soccer. it's like an after-school program/soccer lessons place. they mostly work with 3-5 year olds, which are hella cute. i'm an admin assistant and i will basically keep track of all the coaches, attendance, payments, paperwork, scheduling, phones, signing up new members and payroll. eventually it looks like i'll get to do all of that. but it's really chill. a couple downsides that i can live with for now: 1. it's a home office 2. that is a 4th floor walk up. 3. it's only 7 dollars an hour for now while i train, but apparently hardly anywhere pays you while you train so i'm lucky to be getting anything yet. it'll go up in a month maybe? 4. it has nothing to do with music, however the guy who owns the company did let me know that he recorded a christian music album (yippee) and is orchestrating a label (yippee again). but whatev, the guy is way chill, and some money is better than no money. he kind of reminds me of my dad, except a bit more laid back. which is cool. i can't tell if he's italian or spanish because he seems to speak both fluently, and his brother lives in mexico. today was my first day, and it was pretty boring since i can't actually do anything yet, but ya know, seems like the stuff i am used to so i think i'll like it just fine. he also has two kids. one little guy who i think is named claudio? haven't quite caught his name, or if it is in fact a boy, but he's 10months old and was staring at me all day and doing baby babble like he could actually talk, which was adorable. and he also has a daughter who i think is in 1st grade which i think makes her 5 or 6...and her name is stefanie. the exact same way i spell my name, and he told me that's the reason he decided to even read my resume. lucky for me. she's cute, and was really excited to meet me because we have the same name. she was like peaking in the door all day trying to see me. she's cute and loud.
aaand the other job, which i was just offered today on my voice mail, and accepted via their voice mail so it's not officially offical, is an usher job at the tribeca performing arts center. which is like awesome extra cash that is at least in an environment more conducive to what i want to be around. the girl i interviewed with actually graduated berklee with me and i think that's probably the only reason she hired me. we also have a ton of friends in common and she goes to ri pretty often, yet we have never met. so that seems cool. it's also super flexible and seems fun so yay! it also only pays minimum wage, but at least i'll have the other job too.
soooo it looks like i am officially no longer a dead beat. it's about fucking time.
