current cosplay ideas
Public entry so I can link this at other places to facilitate planning:
Oh gosh, I am so sorry about how horrible I've been about responding to any comments lately! I just kind of feel guilty spending time on lj lately. It's just so easy to leave a little update on facebook or whatever instead and be on my way.
Anyways, there's some cosplay planning to be doing! I'd pretty much spent the last year trying not to get stressed out over participating in groups but there's some really fun ideas going on now. And the first one is truly outrageous!
This was mollyisacatlady 's idea and we've been talking about it for a while now. We're pushing it back from our original plans to debut this at the Wizard World con in December. Right now Jem, Jerrrica, Kimber, Aja, and Stormer are spoken for by interested parties(unless anyone want to change their mind). If anyone else is interested in joining the cast let Molly or I know and what event you'd be interested in wearing these at then we'll try to coordinate the best we can. Personally I can probably do any local event(though D*Con is usually so busy with other stuff I don't know if that would do). And we've been talking about trying to make it to MegaCon too. Also personally, since I'd want to keep this a cheap costume and I know squat about props I'll probably skip the lime green guitar.

The other idea I've recently been thinking about is very festive.
A Christmas Carol photo shoot in Atlanta! I got to this idea in kind of a roundabout way and realized that the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come could lend themselves to some pretty neat pictures. So if anyone else is interested in putting together some original designs for any of the characters, would like take pictures, and/or have location/date ideas let me know! I think any of the characters could be played by either gender. Aside from the three ghosts of Christmas there's of course Scrooge, Marley's ghost, random Victorian people, etc. It would probably be easiest for me to put together something for the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come since I've already cosplayed as a similar character(and maybe I can borrow Dad's scythe). And if I make anything new I can do that in late November/early December. If anyone wants to swap materials to get this going let me know too! I've got some tawny fur that could probably be used for trim for the Ghost of Christmas Present, and if I can find them some lights that might be neat to use for something for the Ghost of Christmas Past. I'd accept donations/swaps of nice black fabric or a short white, black, or silver wig(otherwise I'll just figure out how to secure one of my long ones under the hood). I might have some other things that might be useful for other costumes too, not sure yet.
