I watched lots and lots of tv this weekend :) Was nice! Supernatural and Stargate are love!
I am going to just comment on the episodes of Stargate SG-1 I watched, because I am seriously getting into this show again!
Serpent's Song: First, Daniel lounging on the steps to the gate is awesome! Apophis was both pathetic and scary in this episode! I mean, the scene where he just lifted himself up a little, and it looked like he was considering taking Janet as a host... *shudders*. Also, oh, god, is it bad that I find Lantash sexy? I mean, he was being very self-assured and not very polite when he talked to them at the briefing, and part of me was angry - and another part was, um, yeah, something else... I really do think he and Martouf (and the Tok'ra) had come because they were genuinely concerned for humans on Earth. Maybe just take it as a lesson in how the two races should work to communicate better. Oh, and then there was the horrified? silence when our heroes realized that Apophis (and his host...) would be revived and tortured endlessly since Sokar has a sarcophagus. Certainly an episode that did a lot to your feelings, that's for sure!
Holiday: I remember not liking this episode the first time I watched it, but I can see the moral dilemmas in it. I feel sorry for Machello, but Daniel is right - he is being a Goa'uld if he takes Daniel's body and lives his life. I wonder if there are fic written for the body-switching stuff at the end? I mean, there are lots of (shippy and just funny) potential in swapping people around in each others bodies for a while. Any fic recs out there?
One False Step: Where those aliens plants, or fungus, or animals? Funky episode, that's for sure - and somehow more reminiscent of Star Trek than Stargate (as I, non-trekkie) sees that show.
Show and Tell: The Re'tou are an awesome and terrifying idea - enemies that are out of phase with us, but can somehow still attack us. They could have been a great enemy to show again later. I mean, they wanted to wipe out humans in an attempt to kill the Goa'uld by removing their host-source and slaves, I guess. In a way they wanted the same as the SGC, but not in a way they could ever work with. I wonder if it could be possible to get them to cooperate instead of following their plan? Even if the Goa'uld and Jaffa can sense them, they would be a formidable enemy for them!
1969: This is such a fun episode! Time travel episodes can be fun, if done right, and I think this one is. Also, SG-1 as hippies? Totally made of awesome! I think I need an icon of them! Daniel answering in Russian when they ask if he is a Russian spy is great too! As is Jack saying he is Luke Skywalker, and James T. Kirk! This episode is just pure fun, and I think I need to rewatch it again soon!
One more episode left of season 2, and since I have gotten my hands on season 3, I am going to watch the double-episode/cliffhanger next weekend :) Looking forward to it! If I remember correctly, it is shippy.
