i'll be your starcatcher
i have a friend -- anna -- who drives me to school everyday. she reminds me of sunshine and rainbows. maybe it's because nothing ever gets her down. or maybe it's the bright colors she uses in her artwork. it might also be we're both born in june, a month that i cherish so much because on the first day of summer last year, the day i celebrated my birthday with my friends, it rained while the sun was out and the wet grass glittered like diamonds and i saw three rainbows grace the sky. this memory has been etched in my heart ever since ... anyway --
anna, she's so thoughtful ... she offered to buy me something when i didn't want anything, and when i refused, she looked so delirious and happily threatened me saying she'd pick something out if i didn't. so i got dove chocolate squares, wrapped in thin gold foil. whenever i see gold foil now, i think of the way she threatened me to get chocolate hahahah. oh dear.
she celebrates easter, and i don't want to give her chocolate since i already bought her a box of japanese valentine's day truffles! so yesterday when my mum took me to the fabric store to pick up some material for my brother's wedding favors, i bought a bunch of fabric squares to handmake a pretty journal for anna and for other uses! ah i really do love looking at all the patterns and colors of fabric... if only they weren't so expensive!!!! *sigh* :'(
oh! i also baked dark choco brownies for my mum and dad! and i also took a picture of the other bookmarks i've made a while ago.
it feels nostalgic as i think about this, but lately whenever i think of summer (which has been a lot), i think of purple rainstorms and yellow skies, and wide-opened white windows and four-leaf clovers, tall bushes of roses, clear umbrellas, sweet warm air, songbirds, rainbow arches, seas of fireflies, lanterns, wood, and stardust.
i don't know. but i just needed to get that down somewhere.
okay!!!! spring break is soon :-D and there is so much to be done!! aghhh i wish it started tomorrow!! i want to draw so many things and sew more journal covers and take pictures of flowers and make dreamcatchers and and.. well i have to excuse myself ... i have to go paint my art project now ....
