Not much of an update I guess. But I can tell you a few things...
I now get to wear
this t-shirt around...I consider it a milestone in my life. Thanks Erik and Kristin. Also, I purchased tickets to see the Chicago Bears against the Vikings on November 20th at the Metrodome. See you there? Probably not.
My birthday is in several days (really? 2 days). I'm not too excited to be living more adjacent to the reaper (should I be? I'd bet he's really good at guitar or something). It's all right. Actually, I'm living closer to the age of 16 than ever--being a soccer player, painting, and biking. Also I've been listening to more pop punk. It's all caught up to me.
Really though, Kayla is taking me on a 5-day backpacking trip to Colorado on Saturday, just like when I was, uh, 16. It's pretty effing exciting. To start, we've needed new gear really bad. I've got some new camping-wear (a new coat, some Hard-wear pants, some long-shorts, some SmartWool), Kayla's got a new sleeping bag, and we have a really swell oven that looks more like a grill starter. We'll be roughing it, summiting a 14,000 foot mountain, and hiking 10 miles in and out from our base camp. I've still got my old boots and pack from Philmont. You will, no doubt see a ton of photos from that trip in about 2 weeks.
Then I get to leave my job at the YMCA to be a coffee roaster for an independent, fair-trade, organic coffee company. More to come on that (a lot more. Maybe wait til I'm done working at the Y).
Kayla just finished her cheesy hasbrown potatoes, which means I'm done typing.
