Sometimes, I wonder how you can smile;
How you can act as though nothing's wrong.
You continue to be in denial,
and try to be strong -
But I can see through your mask;
A mask filled with lies.

As long as you fulfill your task,
You'll continue to deny;
That everything is fine -
But I can see right through you.
You're beginning to get tired
As your heart began to break in two.

You know what you truly desire -
What you truly need.
Yet, it brings you so much pain;
When you want to succeed.
And I could do nothing but feel the same.

I can only watch from afar;
Wondering how to end this game.
Even when I look at the distant star.
A game that will never end or fade;
Leaving me wondering if we can win.
I just want to end this charade.

Even though I have sinned;
I still wish to help you as you continue.
So, I watch you from a distance;
To help you stay true.
It was that day since
I chose to hide away in fear,

Even when I know you won't hate me.
I still try to wipe away this tear;
When I feel sadness in my heart.
You try so hard to hide;
That it's tearing me apart.
The mask can fool your friends -

But it can never fool me.
I promise; I will make it end.
So that you can smile truly;
and so I can make this right.
After all, I am the Dark that surrounds your soul -
Just as you are the Light.

Even when I'm left in the cold,
I can still feel your heartbeat;
Your radiance.
I won't make you feel obsolete
and I will help you travel that distance.

Even if I can't be by your side;
I'll help you my own way.
After all, I am the Darkness where your heart hides;
To make sure that light of yours never fade away.
