it has been one busy week.

monday...woke up early. packed everything up then Chicago. the drive there really wasnt bad. mom had a near aneurysm once we got into chicago traffic but we survived. checked into the hotel then walked to millenium park. it was awesome. saw the bean and the fountain and all the good stuff. then we had some chicago style pizza. shoppping. then we went to the Navy Pier for the lights and me to take pictures....momma bought us tickets to ride the ferris wheel which would have been terrifying if i wasnt so fascniated by the skyline. back to the hotel shortly after that because it was late and we had walked 10 miles that day.

woke up around 8 on tuesday. this day was dedicated to shopping. i made very few purchases which is terribly sad but what can ya do about it. cheesecake factory for lunch. more shopping. shop shop shop. site see and more site seeing. went back down to the pier...which im freaking in love with. there was a gay pride pirate ship. then more walking and shopping. we put in another 10 miles this day...thanks to mom's pedometer. mom and shannon wanted cheesecake so we went back and while they were ordering i sat outside by the fountain. enjoying the night air and people watching...oddly, it was one of my favorite parts of the trip...i want to move to there.

wednesday was science and industry museum day! got there around 11. left around 3. we saw a submarine that had been captured in WWII. freaking massive. then planes and trains and automobiles. and all sorts of stuff. it was like Cosi but bigger and more awesome. then the Harry Potter exhibition. holy shit. it was amazing. i took me an hour to get through the whole thing. they had a dorm room set up, hagrids hut, quidditch, forbidden forest and the great hall. then a bunch of stuff from the movies like clothes and props (ie. wands, robes, goblet of fire, triwizard cup, brooms, books) and stuff. it was so badass i almost cried from happiness....and i dont care how dorky that makes me. they wouldnt allow any pictures tho so that kind of depressing. then home...the drive wasnt that bad.

saw some pretty fucked up shit on the way home. a semi literally slammed into a car. and i mean the car was sideways and the front of the truck was inside of the car....luggage thrown all over the street and blankets had been hung up over the car and there was blood everywhere. no way in hell the people in that car survived. it was one of those things that gets burned into your brain. fucking pink flipflops and a grey suitcase. green car. yellow truck. a van full of asians that must have witnessed it. i couldnt get over the fact that the family members of those people didnt even know they were dead. ugh. terrible.

so i just did some research...

so on to less sad news.

thursday was my first day back to work. and on nights. really stressful. i was with nichole. i pretty much just shadow all night because i was having a freaking heartattack from stress. oh well.

friday was work as well and it went much better. i was with myrna. she was really nice about everything and supportive. i ended up basically having all 4 patients to myself and she only had to remind me of stuff a few times. i felt really accomplished and proud of myself. the night went really great.

yesterday was saturday and 80s prom. what a great night. my outfit was pretty stellar. lots of dancing and singing and drinking and dancing and dancing and singing. it was just a absolute blast. pictures on facebook kind of sum things up but dont nearly do the night justice. from what i hear everyone had just as good of a time as i did.

today was sunday and kind of my veg day. i literally did nothing all day which was awesome. then around 9 i picked up vsac and we headed to parkwood. then the drive-ins. sean faber zak and randy joined. mallory and jamie were there but didnt park by us. alan and kaileigh met us there. transformers2 and the hangover. lots of laughing and good times. love my friends.

tomorrow i work. BOOOOO!

happy birthday to alan!
