A couple things

I've decided I may not have children, but also that if I do, I will raise them gender neutral until they choose one for themselves. Or maybe just balance the stereotypes to make them a good person without pressure to conform to bad expectations that come with whatever genitalia they have ( Read more... )

I understand what you're saying about the gender-neutral situation. And I think it's a fantastic idea but wouldn't outside sources influence that child's decision? Like, if they went to pre-school and the teacher auotmatically pinned them as a certain gender, almost like unintentional brain-washing. There will always be people that would want to force the gender on the from the start, most likely their natural born gender.

Great idea though. With some thought that could really change the world.

Maybe I'd home school them, maybe I'd talk to the teacher, maybe I'd be able to explain it to my kid, or maybe I'd teach the kid to ignore certain parts of what their teachers tell them.

That completely makes sense. It's a definite social experiment that needs to happen. Maybe not from you, but at least from someone.Spread the word. This could be huge.

It is, but it won't happen. Not by doctors, anyway. Not in this country. It's a big ethics deal.
Look up David Reimer. True, horrible story that actually kind of supports raising a kid because of their physical sex. But there are plenty of stories to counter it.
