Well this was a fun weekend. so my Lord was off the 3rd, and since Sven and Rochle (members of Drafn) had invited us to go to Stone Brewery w/ them that morning (the radio station: 94.9 was doing a promo w/ 94 cent tasters starting at 7 am) we got up nice and early to drive out to the brewery of my Lord's favorite ale. he was very happy. I don't like ale or beer so was one of the DDs (Rochle was the other) the place was beautiful the was a garden w/ waterfalls, stones (obviously), grass, stones wisteria, bamboo, and a bunch of other trees and plants; the was a slate stone patio w/ outdoor bar, full was all glass windows that could be retracted so that the outside patio connected to the indoor bistro, a second level loft area w/ tables and all. and be hind that the gift shop and the Brewery itself.we got in around 7:40 am we didn't get seated till 9:30ish and didn't see our waiter till 30 minutes later;/ we were not happy about that...but there was still all the ale to drink... any case, I was promised breakfast for my going- they were out of breakfast by the time they seated us ( never did get it). gol- I don't think they thought so many people would come. they were very under staffed and supplied. so then at noon we went on their brewery tour and after that filled my Lords 2 three liter bottles and 1 two liter w/ Arrogant Bastard and 13th Anniversary Ales. so while we were there I met the guy named Patrick, I guess he used to be in my same glass in high school. we hung out most of the time.
the 4th was full too. I find after playing Rock Band enough times I'm actually starting to improve. I'm still on easy (I've tried medium but i always fail out), but after playing all morning/ afternoon on the 4th i realized I'm doing much better- didn't get below 93% and as high as 98% - so that is good. Justin (our other guitar/ bass player- who got us into this is much better then the rest of us he is upset if he gets below a 98%), my Lord Henrik is our singer- who can usually get 100% on easy and medium, and Maluchka is our drummer (no one wanted to do it so we convinced her to try- this was her 3rd time playing on the set she is now in the 90+ %s) - oh and she broke the foot peddle this last game..... opps so we have to fix it for our nect concert. anycase this is our band - Drafn Live!* ( A spoof of Dannicus Live!) they all like to make it a Drinking game w/ the % off from 100 being how many drinks u have to drink...I don't but they do. if that is the case we will have to start playing medium soon or they wont get to drink any.
so after that we went to Patrick and Diane's for BBQ and fireworks. we hung out with the rest of Drafn. Carl now wants to join our game..he plays on expert!!! ,:/ !!still we never hang out outside of parties...so it would still be fun. we also went on and on at the party talking about our new GURPS game we are going to start in a month or two. every one but me has a character in mind. the theme is transhuman space...not my area of expertise...so i feel a bit lost. We had a real concert on top our firework watching hill- the Drafn bards decided we needed patriotic accompaniment to the fireworks so sang appropriate songs. it was very cool sounding the last song was the Star Spangled Banner (they didn't realize it at the time) but just as the reached the high notes in "and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air..." the grand finale started. it was awesome. so went hope called Puppy who was stuck at work;( talked for a while and then went to bed.
the next morning was Brigade practice- Drafn came out in force we had like 10 fighters and 4 newbees w/out armor yet who watched we fielded three archers (i was not among them :( though i wish i had been) but i got most of the sewing done on my fuzzy Mongol/ Persian hat, so that is good.
