looooooong post

omg the last week was crazy. Absolutely nuts. It actually all started teh weekend of the 9th. That friday, I ended up going out to beaverton to meet some of neal's friends and hang out for his best friend's wife's surprise birthday party. After, we headed to Chris's for some rockband/wii. The next morning, I was up and ready to go by 730, on a plane by 830, and in the air by 9.

Touched down in San Jose about 11 and my mom and I proceeded to get our rental car and then drive about 30 minutes in the wrong direction. :-P No biggie. We got to the hotel (which was 4 minutes from the airport, no less) and got ready to go to the reception.  Reception was lots of fun. I took about 400 pictures. (I just started to edit them last night) We left hollister to head back to san jose around 11:30. Then the next morning we were back at the airport and on a plane by 1030.

Back in pdx. I got home around 12:30. Took a quick bath, fed the kitties, and then by 2, out the door with Neal to go to see the Get Rights. Him and Kevin were raving about them on friday night and said I *had* to go with them to the show.  Well, I get there, run into Michelle and Jamie and John. Then when the band starts, I realize I know one of hte guitarists. So at the break, there were some other guys playing some music out back, so we wander out tehre. I say hi to Jason (the guitarist) who is the bar tender at Paccini. He sees me, yells, "gloria!!!" and gives me a huge hug. Kinda awkward just cuz I don't actually know him outside of having him make me drinks. :-P He tells us that he is in another band called Growler and that they are playing Ash street on thursday. Sweet.

So teh show starts back up, we stay till about 4 then head over to Neal's friends house wehre he has band practice. I helped Rich's wife, Cyndi, make dinner. We all drank beer and had burgers and hung out til about 8ish. Neal and I leave and decide to stop at billy ray's for a beer. (like we need it hahaha) Well, we're sitting there, and neal looks at me and goes, wow, I'm drunk. I offer to drive since I have been taking it easy. Being tired, on the tail end of a cold and drinking aren't the best combo. So that was settled. Then his phone rings, he looks at it, its his dad. "I don't usually answer calls from my dad when I'm at places like this."
... "places like this? You mean bars?"
"hahah yeah... wanna say hi to him?"
"no, its ok, if I talk to your dad for the first time, I'd rather it be like in person, y'know. Its ok. haha"

....

He picks up the phone. Starts talking. Then says to his dad, "hey, wanna say hi to gloria?"

oh shit. LOL Ok, so he hands me the phone. I say hi. He introduces himself as Mr. Clark. Nice to meet you mr clark, yada yada. Then he says, "well, y'know neal likes to tip a few back. Are you goign to be driving?" So of course I answer taht I am saying, "oh don't you worry, that's already been decided"

"You can call me David."     lol I handed the phone back to Neal and that was that. Too funny. So we left there a little bit later, me driving.

Monday night, I ended up going to Club 915 to shoot Justin and Breanna's show. Decided to forgo the Keegan show since it'd been such a long weekend, and one show was enough. About 9ish I headed back home. Tuesday night, no show; just made dinner and watched Edward Scissorhands with Neal. Weird that I'd *NEVER* seen it before.

Wednesday night was MIIKE SNOW!!!!! Omg, amazing show. I went with Nicole and we had a blast. It was hot and dancy and sweaty and so much fun. By the end of the show we were up by the front dancing and jumping around. When we left at 11:30 at the end, we were both literally dripping with sweat.

So Thursday night rolls around, and Neal and I ended up going down to Ash Street. The first band I think was called Podunk. They were pretty funny. They had a song called "White Trash Woman" with lyrics about her parachute pants, airbrushed tshirt, blue eyeshadow, pink lipgloss and "I wonder how it tastes". (referring to the pink lipgloss) Growler came on after. They were pretty awesome. It was a fun show.

Friday. Yay friday. I found out early in the day that Floater was playing at Dante's but didn't really think about it. Kinda wanted to go, but wasn't sure anyone would wanna or would be able to go with me. Later in the day, Neal texts me telling me that they are playing. (I just introduced him to Floater) I asked if he knew how much, he said 12-15. So I text Chrissi and we decided to go. It was a lot of fun too.

So that was show 5 in 6 days. Saturday, I was up pretty early for my mom's birthday. My parents came up from Silverton and we went to Mother's for breakfast. Then wandered around Saturday Market. It was a nice day, really warm out during the morning. They dropped me off around 11:30 and I went home and just hung out for a bit. Around 12ish, Neal came and got me so we could go on a hike. He had to mow his yard before we left, so I went to the grocery store to get picnic stuff while he did that. We ended up leaving around 2ish to head out to the Marquam Nature Park Shelter Trail. It was about a 3.3 mile hike from there up to council crest. About half way through the hike it started raining. It was actually kind of awesome. It was warm and sunny but raining through the trees. It was SO green up there. We go tot he top, all the benches and grass was soaked, so we just had some iced tea and a handful of chips before heading back down to the car.

I ended up taking about a hundred pictures tehre. Good god, that place is gorgeous. I wanna start hiking more. I think this will have to happen this spring. So we head back to Neal's house, order pizza, hang out and after we both took showers and got dressed, started looking around online for shows. Yes, this will have been my 6th show in 7 days. So we went to Camellia Lounge out in NW to see Naming Names. It ended up just being the female vocalist playing piano and singing, but she was pretty awesome. The show ended pretty early, like 10 or 10:30. So after a couple drinks there, we wandered over to Slabtown to see if there was a show there. There wasn't, but decided to get a drink there. We hung out for a bit and then wandered over toward burnside to see if tehre was a show going on at the Ella Street Social Club. There wasn't. It was kind of a weird place. I guess it used to be a pretty awesome place to go to for shows. But I just got a very coked-out-hipster vibe from it. Ps, on the way there was the first time I slipped. The sidewalk crossing burnside by blockbuster, the ramps are pretty slick and I was wearing shoes that I have slipped in before; the soles are very slick. The first fall, pretty harmless.

Anyway, we leave and head over to the matador for more drinks. We hung out til about 2. Somehow Neal convinced me to dance even though there was no one dancing; which is kinda funny considering that usually Neal is the more reserved one. :-P We left there, and on the way back to the car, right outside the matador I think, is when I fell again. (I say think, because I don't particularly remember) I didn't think I'd hurt myself too badly. Was able to walk and everything. But the next morning, woke up and couldn't move my foot. It was not fun. I spent sunday sleeping and smoking. It helped a bit with the pain. And yesterday I had a little more range of motion. Today I can put more pressure on it, but still not 100%. I'm, just hoping to be able to bowl on sunday; its been 2 weeks now that I have been to bowling! :-)

Ok, this post has raaaaaaaaaaaambled. I think I need to start posting more often so these posts aren't all a million pages long. I have more to talk about, but will save it for a post for later. That will be about my sisters wedding and my cousin Jeni coming to stay with me and the tattoo I'm getting next month and and and...
