Silent Hill versus Real Life
Creepy day. It rained all morning and all afternoon, and let off sometime in the evening while I was at work. Nothing new or weird, just saying.
We are, as I have ranted about several times, undergoing renovations at work. Everything is disorganized and, in the back, things are actually pretty gross. There's not much back there, just the jugs of cleaning fluids, the cardboard baler, and the trash compactor, really. And the deep freezer, which is cold. Do not go in there without a winter coat or you will freeze to death.
This back area is also usually colder than the rest of the store, as well as oddly quiet, with sporadic Strange Noises. It is not a place I like to be, as it is kind of creepy and no one is ever back there. Also, it smells peculiar.
Anyway, this back area, which you can reach through a door between the deli and seafood or through a door in the meat area or through a door next to the dairy cases, is dirty. And dusty and gross.
What it should not have been was bloody. I was hauling garbage to the trash compactor and entered through the door by the deli and - huh, that's funny. There's congealing red stuff streaked all down the hall. It looked like something had been dragged through while bleeding or something. Really kind of disturbing. There was a lot of it near the compactor door.
I stood by the door for a minute just staring because I almost didn't want to open it, because I was half convinced something was going to be in there. ...Then I remembered the meat department closes before we do and might've just had a mess that maintenance hadn't been able to get to yet.
Still, it was pretty, uh. Weird. Weird's a good word for it.
Then when I was driving home, it was really, really foggy. I had maybe twenty feet of visibility and then it was just WALL OF FOG. I think the fog is still out there. I cannot see to be sure, though, as it is very dark.
I ... may have put the stereo to CD, even though I did not want to listen to the CD in there, because I may have not wanted to hear any radio static. The area I was in when the fog showed up is prone to poor reception as it is. I have mentioned that before.
