"Doom in Machu Picchu is spelled as a long series of A´s, followed by an abrupt, painful and ultimately final full stop."
*ascending Huyana Picchu* "Goddamn*wheeze*motherfucking*wheeze*Incas*gasp!*
*at the summit*
"..."
"..."
"Holy crap, we´re STANDING ABOVE the rain."
"Dude, we GOT er done."
*couple on their way up* "Are we close?"
*gasping laughter*
*last trek back to Macchu Picchu* "OH FUCK YOU SUN, YOU COULDN´T HAVE COME OUT EARLIER, HUH?!"
Also, to pass the time while wheezing on the side of the trail we did the math on how many people per year get to see that summit. A maximum of 102,400. This took us about half an hour because of dehydration and high altitude.
"Hey dude, am I burned?"
"Sort of."
"SWEET!"
"This rates a 4/5 on the epic scale."
"Really? What would be a five? The moon?
"Well, that´s kind of an order of magnitude greater."
"So maybe the scale should be logarythmic?"
"Hmm."
And then the Bruggeman-Adderley Epics Scale was born. More details to follow once we´ve banged out the details.
