I finally decided what to do with my career. I'm going into business for myself as an architectural illustrator. I will do manual perspectives until I save up enough money to purchase 3D Studio and do computer renderings. That will be a ways off. I'm good at doing perspectives and enjoy doing it too. I've never done perspectives on a computer, so I'm looking forward to that in the future. When I was in school, I was considered one of the better free-hand artists. Most architects don't know how to do freehand perspectives, but it comes naturally to me and seems relatively simple. I'm able to deal with the ambiguity of perspective drawing due to a lot of practice. I'm not the greatest designer in the world, but I won't have to deal with that in my business practice. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I've already got one client, my friend Sean Briski who wants me to do a rendering of a new home he's designing. He's a very intelligent guy and he's the one who counseled me into doing renderings after seeing my portfolio. Looking forward to a hot summer in Alta Loma. -John
