The Twilight Zone RPG Rules

May 12, 2010 18:00

RULES AND REGULATIONS.

1. You must apply to play this game. Please fill out and submit an application in the section entitled, “Applications”.

2. It is necessary to remain as IC and true to canon as possible in this setting. If headcanon ideas are overridden by canon information, you must use the latter. If you believe your headcanon idea should override canon, you must be prepared to explain it to a mod.

3. You must post either a journal entry or an RP log at least once every two weeks. There will be activity checks.

4. If you take a hiatus, you must either post to that effect or contact a mod. If you must take a hiatus for longer than three months, you must drop from the game unless approved by a mod.

5. You may play up to four characters. Any more must be approved. If we feel that you are not meeting activity requirements, your application for a new character may be rejected regardless of how many characters you play.

6. There are no original characters allowed at this time.

7. Please keep IC and OOC separate. This includes issues with fellow players, OOC knowledge, and so forth.

8. Metagaming and godmoding are not allowed. Particularly important is the issue of character tapes: to destroy another character’s tape, you must have permission from their player. If you do not know what metagaming and godmoding are, this game is not for you.

9. Drama is not acceptable. If you have an issue with another player, keep it away from the game.

10. Bestiality, underage sex, and rape are not to be played out in this game. If your character does commit any of these for any reason, it must be mod approved, in-character for them to do so, and the scene must either fade-to-black or be implied. None of these are at all acceptable for Morality Deals (in which your character commits an act which goes against their morals or character in payment for a deal with the Devil).

11. All adult-oriented plots must be placed under a cut with the appropriate warnings. This includes violence, drug use, and sex.

12. All major plots - that is, plots which can affect all characters in-game - must be mod-approved.

13. You must participate in HMDs.

14. You are welcome to apply for characters from The Twilight Zone original series.

15. This is a live-action RPG. At this time, we are not accepting animated characters, Western or Eastern, without special permission. There are plenty of other games that will accept them. If you want to try and talk your way into applying for an animated character, please bear in mind that your character will look animated to everyone else in the game. After all, this is the Twilight Zone.

16. We reserve the right to use any means possible to keep circle-jerking at a minimum. This includes limiting characters to five from each canon and partnering characters with people not of their own fandoms.

17. Journal entries are first person, present-tense, and must be posted to the RPG community.

18. RP logs must be third person, past-tense, and must be posted to the RPG community. Action!Spam is allowed, and may be third-person, present-tense.

19. Fourth-walling is allowed. Your character may be recognized by another character.

20. If your character makes a deal with Miss Devlin which affects another player's character, you must get permission from that player first. This includes love spells, murder, and so on.

21. M-PREG is not allowed at this game. (Yet.)

22. We currently allow players to carry over characters from the following games:

The Last Voyages lastvoyages
Planet Recursion planetrecursion

Other games will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to carry over a character, non-canon history from other RPGs must be included in the application.

23. All character powers in-game are nullified unless posted otherwise. See the F.A.Q. for more information.
