English 106A: Literature Review

Mar 16, 2009 15:58

One of the tenets of Twilight University has been for RPattz to Be More Awesome. Clearly, he has heeded our call, because although he has not been photographed in a cape or reenacting scenes from the Twilight trailer at the supermarket (THAT I KNOW OF), he has been trying his very hardest to either freak young girls out or turn them into carrot-microwaving-freak lovers.

To review, RPattz gave an(other) interview, this time with GQ magazine, which is well known for its...use as an adjective to describe well-dressed men? Seriously, who reads GQ? Sorry, back to the review. This interview is made of sold vampire-skin gold; it is maybe our favorite interview ever. The highlights include leaving the movie premier after 15 minutes to have a panic attack. This leaves me with one question: IS 15 MINUTES IN THE BIOLOGY SCENE? Because if it is, I would have totally left after than scene, too. It would be horrible if you didn't know how totally insane you looked until you saw it with everyone else. And your mom. And maybe Roger Ebert.

He claims that he reads Twilight fan fic--and that it is well written. I love that he thinks 12-year-olds could write a good Twilight. So do I.

The TwiMosh Pit in San Francisco is referred to, by the interviewer, as RPattz's Viet Nam. Without irony. If they mean that he was super stoned while insanity occured around him: Yes.

He fakes emotions (like, um, an actor). Sometimes he fakes emotions by crawling into a dog bed and crying, even though he didn't mean it. Wha? While he is holding a puppy? But he didn't mean it? He lost me a little bit there.

Also, the place where he staying in LA has a microwave, and he has never had a microwave before. Because apparently it is 1935 in England. So, he is amazed at the ability to shoot radiation at food to cook it. So amazed that he microwaved a carrot. I am totally picturing him at home in the clothes he has worn for the last month watching a carrot spin in the microwave. In the dark. Is this the next fad? Are there going to be homemade t-shirts at the next midnight movie release that say "Edward can microwave my carrot"? (Yes. Yes, there are.)

This interview may be the best interview that has ever been interviewed. It should be mandatory reading for anyone who can read. Actually, the pictures that go along with it are pretty hilarious, too.
