Scans for Gail

Once upon a time, a group of HP fans stopped in a comic shop to kill a few hours before PoA opened. I introduced gail_b to Jhonen Vasquez and Squee before buying the book to take home and be my Squishy. She, still fascinated by the crazy train wreck that is Jhonen's work, asked me to scan a few panels for her. I wrote them down, then promptly forgot about it.

Sorry, Gail! They're awfully late, so I made you an icon of one to (hopefully) make up for it.

And the icon:

There are large (600px) and hi-res (800px) over here.

Enjoy!

Squee's Wonderful Big Giant Book of Unspeakable Horrors is way cool. We painted a panel from one of the alien issues on the wall in my freshman dorm, and people were constantly commenting how sick, weird, and cool it was. I think, aside from his sick sense of humor, Jhonen's gift is his crazy, pseudo-formal syntax. Oh, and his tiny-text meta commentary along the edges of his panels (e.g., "Sometimes I just don't know what the hell I'm drawing" with an arrow pointing to a fat, bird-like thing with googly eyes and its tongue sticking out.).

The whole thing is wonderfully squicky, creepy, and downright sick at times. Therefore many of you will love it.
