Day Forty

Feb 21, 2010 12:07

I'm going to agree with pretty much everyone else: last week never happened. The island's certainly more capable of these than they realized...

But you know, it figures I'd remember something about Valentine's Day back home too. You see, when I was younger, I went to an all-girl school... so no boys allowed, right? You'd think that would prevent most boys from trying to come and see me, but that didn't seem to phase Hayner or Pence.

Every year, Hayner would always pretend to be my distant cousin from some far-off place. The locale changed every year (last time he pulled this off, he chose to be from some "Agrabah" place), but he'd always somehow fool the poor administration into thinking he, Pence, and I were all related.

It was incredibly sweet, actually! He'd pull on some ridiculous accent for the other girls - and Pence would snap up pictures for some made-up newspaper of his - and at the end of the day? It'd be the three of us, laughing and joking about stupid things and declaring we were each other's Valentine.

... Somehow, I think the school was always aware Hayner was never related to me. Maybe they just liked seeing him go to all that trouble instead of taking the easy way out and sending flowers to me at school.

[ooc; 2% memory regain. Olette remembers her traditional Valentine's Day celebration from back home (as well as how she celebrated it with her family). From this point on - I don't have much canon information to go on, so admittedly, a lot of her memories like this one'll be headspace.

Also! Regular visitors to the bakery will notice that Olette has finally gotten coffee and tea as beverages.]
