Thanks to a few good friends on GaiaOnline... they got me to write this. Sorry if it seems slightly OOC, but it IS younger!Terra...
Terra had never been good with gifts, especially on days like this. Then again, there never was much to give. He wasn't good with making things like the new apprentice, Aqua, was... She was much more arts and crafts oriented while he was more brute strength. The nervous eight-year-old dug deep into his one chest, knowing he'd hidden the package somewhere towards the bottom. "Ugh, where IS it-? Whoa!" He'd leaned too far in, and fallen face-first into the chest. "Ow... Oh, there it is!" Terra grinned, then heard his bedroom door open. Uh-oh.
"Terra?" Eraqus raised an eyebrow, seeing the young boy's feet sticking out of the chest before he saw a little hand waving at him in midst of all the toys. He laughed, walking over to help Terra dislodge himself from the mess he'd gotten himself in. "Were you trying to play hide-and-seek?"
"Uh-uh!" Terra shook his head, grinning up at his father figure as he held onto the present. He'd found some gold wrapping paper in the storeroom he'd hidden in the last time he tried to skip training, and snuck back to get some to wrap what was currently in his hands. "I was looking for this!" The boy lifted it up to his Master, his smile glowing. "Ever since you took me in you've been like a dad to me, and... I wanted to thank you but didn't know how." Terra's smile wavered when he saw Eraqus' expression when he'd unwrapped it. "...Thanks, Master."
A small tear fell from the corner of Eraqus' eye as he knelt down to Terra's level, placing the gift on the floor before embracing his first apprentice. "No, thank you, Terra."
Wrapped in a gold frame, there stood a younger Eraqus holding up an even younger Terra for their first photograph together... It had been taken three days after the Keyblade Master had taken the boy in, and two weeks after the boy had been orphaned. Eraqus thought that photo had been lost...
"Happy Father's day, Dad."
*takes a bow* Happy Father's Day, everyone!
