How appropriate my icon is for my post.
I went to my first college party last night. It was a BLT party, aka Boxers, Lingerie, and Togas. My friend Heather, me, a few other girls from GRC and three of Heather's guy friends all went stomping down N. Cherry street to the frat party there.
It was alot of fun, with dancing, a DJ, black and red lights. Spending time with Heather. Feeling connected to college life. Feeling rebellious and young.
And then there were some INTERESTING moments. Like when the cops came as a result of a neighborhood noise complaint. That was pretty tense for about 15-20 minutes. Thoughts of OH GOD I'm going to be dragged into a police station dressed like a prostitute...kept going through my head. But they left, as the frat boys are used to handling cops it seems. There was beer and hard liquor of course. I had very little, using the cold exterior of the can to cool me off, more than to drink.
Some of the girls really went all out on the lingerie bit, rivaling the Victoria Secret Fashion show participants, and the strippers from Showgirls. There was a pole in the dance room which some of the girls took full advantage of. I actually saw a couple "doing it" in a corner near one of the speakers. There was also an asian girl there in black leather bra and panties, dancing in a manner reserved for the red light district and the porn industry. She seemed to be trying her hardest to live up to the Asian prostitute archetype.
As the night progressed, guys got drunker and started hitting on Heather and I hard core, though it was mostly on Heather. It was time to go.
So overall, I enjoyed most of my experience. Was shocked, or at least surprised by somethings. I guess I've caught a glimpse of "real" college life.
By the way. Fire alarms aren't for protection. They are solely meant to interrupt and annoy. Twice for GRC in two weeks......Grrr....
So signing off from VCU. Quite tired. And yet quite content.
