Fyrinnae

My latest Fyrinnae order! I was introduced to Fyrinnae by a friendly MUA-er I've known for awhile. Fyrinnae has some fantastic, great-quality products. Despite being a relatively small MMU company compared to Everyday Minerals, I think they are above EDM in terms of finishing powders. Their eye shadows are of great quality too! I love that they provide skin swatches but they are a little expensive compared to Pure Luxe, and the worse thing about Fyrinnae is the long processing time. But I don't really mind the waiting time, I'll just have to order when my finishing powder is left with half, and I'll be okay.

L-R: Powder Primer: Dry Skin Sample (US$1.50), Fluff Sample (US$1.50), Mineral Finishing Powder: Oil Control (Full Size US$7), Powder Modifier x2 (US$3 each)

I've had lots of problems finding my perfect finishing powder with EDM. I tried all their finishing powders, and I still have them all in mini sizes. I'd have to admit, as much as I love EDM's products, their finishing powders just don't do it for me, and I know I'm not alone in this aspect. Finishing Dust worked fine, but it just gave me a nice finish without any oil-control. You see, I have a troublesome skin type - normal-combination that flakes, sometimes even on my nose. That's why I need a really moisturizing primer, so that my mineral foundation will adhere well to my skin. And I need to finish off with something that controls oil on my T-zone but doesn't dry out my cheeks or cause flaking on my nose. Fyrinnae does the job. Its my HG now and I don't use other finishing powders anymore. :)

I also got a sample of Powder Primer for Dry Skin and Fluff to try. In fact, I don't really like powder primer but I haven't tried this yet. I'm just so in love with my Paul & Joe Moisturizing Primer, I just feel like reaching for that everytime. Fluff is a multi-purpose powder that gives a slight glow and it can be used under or after foundation. It can be used alone too! For the powder modifier, it's actually a multi-purpose mixing medium. I got this mainly for pressing my EDM blushes, but it can be used to revive hardened gel liners, lining with eyeshadows, eyeshadow foiling and applying glitters on skin.

Fyrinnae Sample Eye Shadows (US$1.75 each)

Fyrinnae's eye shadows are a little different compared than the usual mineral eye shadows. Some of their shades are pretty unique and they are of a better quality, say compared to Pure Luxe. Of course, PL is not bad either. I even find Fyrinnae's shadows slightly better than EDM. You can read more about how they formulate their eye shadows differently here. Anyway, I don't buy a lot of their eye shadows since they are pretty expensive for a sample (about S$2.70 each), I just get the colors I really like. Fyrinnae is very generous though, they always give me a free sample eye shadow even when my orders are smaller. The complimentary eye shadow here is Atomic Afterglow.

I have to say the swatches looked about a thousand times better in person. Sorry I'm a lousy photographer :( Under sunlight, Dragonmagic has this forest green sheen that is really gorgeous. Equality is said the be the closest FDA-approved holographic formulation they can get! It's so pretty that I might not bear to use it. :p Immortality is a soft black with multi-colored sparkles that I believe will look great as a liner too. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of gray shadows, so Atomic Afterglow (freebie) was just okay for me.

Yay I have NYX lipsticks coming in the mail soon! Ciao!

xoxo,
Teal
