Post-Christmas MAC Haul!

Dec 28, 2008 03:21

Sorry it's been awhile. I've been busy enjoying the holidays! I've had great food, lovely company and wonderful presents! Hope it was great for you too! Won't be posting pics of my pressies except for the MAC MES that I've been lemming for a long time! Anyway, I went to TANGS yesterday hoping to see the Dame Edna collection. I wanted to try my luck though I know there's like no way in hell it'll be launched so quickly.

Actually, I think it's really because of my disappointment after reading that its stickers on the packaging, I needed to see it in person to be completely convinced. I mean, come on, stickers again?! Initially, I wanted to get both highlight powders, the Wisteria eyeshadow trio and a lipglass. Now, I know I'm not getting the eyeshadow trio anymore. Will still get at least one of the powders since I'm a sucker for beauty powders and these, although named highlight powders, are really just beauty powders after the top layer/overspray is gone. Beauty powders are great for me, because I'm quite fair and I can use them on my no-makeup days or just buildup the color on days with makeup. For the lipglass, I'm still on the fence, but I'm most prolly not getting it. Need to save up for the Brunette Blonde Redhead MSFs!

Oh I didn't know that Gold Deposit MSF's here! Sorry for being so out of touch coz I kinda given up and thought it wouldn't be launched here after asking the SAs so many times and they kept telling me its not here yet. I didn't want to just order it online... you'd understand why after seeing my swatches.

I also got my MAC pigment samples from Thebodyneeds in the mail! Nope, I wasn't exactly planning on ordering the pigments at first, coz I don't use them often enough and I already have enough... Then I saw the rare All Girl pigment listed! I love the vibrancy of the pink and I had to get it! Just that, this time I didn't receive any free sample glitter, haha I know I'm a cheapskate, too bad I love freebies! :p

Yesterday's Haul!

(Top) L-R: MAC Sample Pigments in All Girl, Gold Dusk, Quietly, Sweet Sienna, Lark About (US$14.90 including shipping)
(Bottom) L-R: MAC Fluidline in Macroviolet (S$28), MSF in Gold Deposit (S$46), Fluidline in Frostlite (S$28)

Swatches!

Despite my obssession with MSFs, the reason why I didn't buy Gold Deposit online was because I read on Specktra that it can look really orange on NW20/25 (or was it NC) skin tones. So I really wanted to swatch in person to make sure that its usable for me. When I first swatched it with my finger, I thought I was definitely gonna pass on this. Then I tried applying it with a skunk brush and I fell in love with it! Its like a peachy-gold glow! Look at these swatch comparisons. Now, you see the wonders of a duo-fiber brush! :p

Wanted to get Macroviolet fluidline on my last trip to MAC but it was OOS. Umm.. Frostlite... it's a color I've been debating with myself for awhile whether to get it or not. I need a white liner for my lower lashline/waterline, and Fascinating (Eye Kohl) doesn't last on me at all. It just fades off after like a couple of hours. I have the Majorlica Neo Automatic Liner in White that lasts, but I really don't think I want to try putting that on my waterline. So I decided this was essential, and especially since its LE :p

Yup this is the MES I've been lemming for! I swatched it some time ago and I love BOTH the colors! I know I have loads of similar gold shades but I just can't resist them. Plus this red is really gorgeous! I don't have any shade of red remotely similar to this and I can't wait to try it out for New Year's!

MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Heat Element. Retailing for S$33.

I tried my best but these swatches don't do the colors enough justice.

Btw, I have some gel liners coming soon! (think Bobbi Brown! Coastal Scents! Indelible!) I'm so excited! Oh and also the EDM kit! And I've yet to post my EDM custom blush mixes swatches. Ughh so many things, so little time! Oops its getting late, okay, toodles! ;)
