I wish that you could see me in the day

It's a very peculiar time of year. A few things come to mind. County Fair, Rock Fest, Campingesque typeness.

As far as I can remember I'd gone to the county fair. Save the last 3 years now... I haven't. I saw CCR there with some cool people. I saw Weird Al there with my Dad. Hell I was even there for Barbara Mandrell of the Mandrell sisters. And I remember the shit too! I would enter flowers with my Grandma and Dad. I think it all ended when she passed. I haven't even been interested in flowers at all. It was neat and all to grow them but it's almost a sore now. I guess there are other things going on now aswell. Had some good times there.

Then there is Rock Fest. Holy crap where to begin. First one? Got tickets from someone I think.... or was that the second one? I'd have to go look at the stubs and look up the bands but during Static-X at one show with Ed and Julie, a crowd surfer landed on her neck. She got set to the hospital and told Ed and I to stay. We did. And it was good. Then I saw another one there. I don't remember who I was with. It must have been Ed again? I remember seeing Jill there when we first started hanging out and such. She was with that Matt dude. What a fruitcake. Again, very good show. Then the third one was with Jill and two kids who I don't remember exactly why we were driving them but I remember she left with a headache or something and skipped seeing Disturbed. The band she wanted to see. They were okay. The highlight of all the Rockfests: Korn and Rob Zombie. Two of the greatest shows I'd ever see. Papa Roach setting the stage on fire was neat, but would have actually been "cool" had it been dark and not incredibly sunny and 95º. Time to go for more shows. Isn't Project 86 due for another album?

Then Camping. Everything from flaming Geo Metro's to Sex, Drugs, and Rock'N'Roll. Planning a ski trip next week. Hopefully Dad get's the prop back so I can take the boat! It's so serene up there. Full of memories and begging for more. I wonder if Jenn will come back into the woodworks for such trips? Need to get Chris&company out for a camp trip too. I remember the first time I drove up to the "Baker" spot. Well the first time Cordell was driving. Whatever happened to that dude? Second time I took the Camaro.... wow I was a dumbass. Packed full of camp gear with Joelle and myself. Since then I've stayed there many times, and with the Jeep I can drive down there! No more carting shit 1/8mile! I was up there a month ago or so for a drive and there are trees blocking the pathway. How lame.

This is my day of rememberance. I guess. Sorta. Just things to think about. Brandy made a good association that I have memories for everywhere I've been. They're always there. It's kind of neat. I think I'd be pretty empty without memories. Past memories welcome future thought!
