The general vote in the poll I ran across 4 communities was divided. Reasons for FAVOURITES will remain non-optional, however I haven't been (and will not be) too strict on the actual reason, they may be as short or personal as you wish to convey.
Just remember, if you want to get positive feedback about your icon, you should offer the same to others. Or just post on the alternates thread ;)
