it might have even topped the day that i touched mana, because SO much good stuff happened.
but first a story, because in order to understand the awesomeness that was yesterday, you have to know the background.
so, me and the gang (elisabeth, tam-chan, and mo) went out with shibata sensei!! it was so much fun! we hung out in harajuku, went to laforet, looked at some bag places for monique, and me and tam got to go to our favorite stores respectiveley, which is cool, because i love her fave store and she loves mine. so yeah, we stopped by h naoto and found out where they sell the bigger clothes, and next time we go to harajuku tam and i are so gonna go there. but anyway, we also went to metamorphose, and i tried on a bunch of stuff, and reserved these shoes for like 100 bucks less than they should have been. gotta love sales. but i'm trying stuff on, and aya (the girl that works there) is like, you know, a lot of companies are looking for people who can speak english and japanese and i'm like SWEET, i should start looking.
so the next day at school, i;m like Ishikawa-san. this is what i heard. should i go for it? and she is like fuck yeah, i'll teach you how to write a japanese resume.
so i'm all like, okay. sweet. tomorrow i have a test which i am going to get raped on, so i think i'll just go home after the student council meeting and work with her on this stuff at the end of the week.
i get to the place where we have student council early, so naturally, i kill time by checking up on my fave stores. on the baby the stars shine bright website is a message saying that the person who deals with foreign mails is sick. and that they are looking for a replacement. so i'm like WTF!? a perfect chance.
next day i show the message to ishikawa-san. she freaks out and is like you should call or e-mail and make an appointment. no e-mail or denwabango is given. so she is like, screw it. don't send a letter, i'm printing you out directions to the place. go!
and i went. yesterday. to baby the stars shine bright. and i gave in my resume. wow. they got back to me, so i need to respond to their e-mail, but my brain was too tired for the reasons that i will explain shortly.
so yeah, that was kick ass.
also, i had a 3 HOUR LONG japanese test. that was the suck. but you know what wasn't the suck? the fact that i PWNED that shit hard core. like, i don't think i got a hundred, but i def got in the 90's or high 80's. i also wrote an awesome essay for the essay part.
another kick ass thing was the class that i taught at my field placement. it was an all gay chick class, and so i decided that i wanted to make class really fun. also, i want the focus to not just be english grammar, but really learning stuff useful for talking. so to make the class have a building block structure. so first day do introductions and small talk. and keep building on the small talk until we can make bigger talk. so first day, introductions, small talk, and flirting, to make it fun. that went over REALLY well. they loved the flirting part. and since lesbians in japan are always closeted, i think it's something important to learn. cause if you flirt with someone and it has an effect on them, you can tell whether they like you or not without necessarily using words.
all of this on top of the fact that kimi made me some sukiyaki to take to school for lunch. YUMMY!!
and then when i got home, i read LJ and JESSICA IS HERE!!! YAY!!! it just makes me incredibly happy that she is finally getting to accomplish her dreams, because she is an AMAZING person. i literally let out a yelp of happiness when i read the lj. and my host family was all "raven, daijoubu" and i was like hecks yes!
so basically everything that happened yesterday was awesome. and the weather was really nice. and yeah. just good stuff all around.
so i thank god a lot for all of the goodness. and i thank the people around me a lot for all of the goodness. and yeah... i'm just a happy camper.
japan,
