Its strange how things can cheer you up.
This may go on a fairly materialistic note:
Saturday I went shopping (Valentines and all that Jazz), and HAPPENED to stumble into a local comic shop - Oops!
Lets get some back story:
Essentially, if you're a comic retailer, you need to place orders for comics 3 months in advance. You need to project how many you will sell of each title that is yet to be released. As you can imagine, this would be REALLY difficult when companies like DC do things like "1 Year Later" to all of their titles across the board; meaning you don't know what any of the titles are about.... so you can't tell if you will be abel to sell them all.
At any rate... I found my local comic shop used to be VERY bad at this process, and as a result has run out of space. They are now selling comics for 10p, all in mint condition, covering large chunks of the last 5 odd years.
So... £20 or so later.... 200+ comics in hand.... I find myself completely removed from thoughts of the office, of troubles and woes.
Instead my head is filled with thoughts of old issues of Uncanny that I haven't read in ages.
And a side note for the Nay Sayers - I managed to grab at least one comic that was the first appearance of X-23, comic NYX issue 3, current street value of about £25 or so.... so essentially, 200 FREE COMICS!
Yeah, gotta be happy with that!
