05. {Action Post} hands on learning.
It could just be his imagination, but the air feels less abrasive against the exposed skin of Kuja's cheeks. Either this strange world is beginning to thaw, or he has become accustomed to it - neither possibility would surprise him. He has been spending quite a bit of time lurking on the rooftops of the community housing buildings. He stands at the edge and looks down, wondering (only half-seriously) if his tiny wings would be enough to keep his landing gentle, should he decide to jump. Sometimes he sits further back, out of view. These times, he looks up - wondering if the stars he sees in the sky are even real, or if they're simply lights projected against the unseen edge of this goldfish bowl he's trapped in.
Tonight he walks the streets, hands kept toasty in his pockets, even his wings protected by little wraps of cloth. His coat is long, making up for the fact that his 'new and improved' pants reveal a generous amount of thigh before the pale skin disappears into the tops of his boots. Even in this cold, he's too stubborn to wrap himself up like a mummy. He's too proud. (And really, he thinks, why shouldn't he be proud...?)
He lingers outside the buildings that house people he's taken a liking to - but he doesn't actually intrude. That would be rude. He's learned much in his brief time here. For the most part, he's content not to share his observations - but he does occasionally lament that there is no one to impress with his dazzling wit. (He's not lonely; that's a stupid idea. He's never lonely.)
Finally, casually, he makes his way to the edge of the village, and begins practicing his spells. Particularly, his healing spells.
But he is absolutely, positively, not lonely.
((So um... yeah, Kuja is lonely. XD It's his own damn fault for being so arrogant. But he's taking a break from all of his spying and scheming to train up for the patrols that he volunteered for. Anyone else with night owl characters, feel free to approach him, or not -- he's just making sure his spells are in top shape.))
