(no subject)
So today was my first offical day as an intern on the film they're shooting here. I went over to the studio part of the Studios (since the other half is where I have my film classes), and waited a little while until Kat, the really awesome Props lady whom I will be working for, came in. She introduced herself and showed me around (our studios remind me a lot of the part of Smith Auditorium where all of the big props and set pieces are stored.....only about 5 times bigger, and that's just one of the two big studios they're using), and then introduced me to a lot of the people (the director, a few of the producers, the production designer, etc.) and showed me where she works (which is this closet-y part of the back part of the studios). She told me what I'd be doing (helping her find and shop for things that will be needed while getting college credit and possibly re-imbursed for cell phone usage and gas :) and we went to Sam's Club (where they're filming part of it since it takes place in Sam's). Tomorrow, I have to find this kind of hair gel and buy 19 cannisters of it, and some other props that are needed, and I also have to read through my copy of the script to see if I think there should be certain props used for particular scenes :). The film starts filming on the 15th with Jessica Simpson, Dane Cook, Dax (from the first season of 'Punk'D), and the guy who played Pedro in 'Napoleon Dynamite', and Kat said that if I'm good and still interested in being there, I can watch them film :D. So yeah, that was my day (well, besides the awful viewings of old weird films in Alt. Screen). Hope all is well with everyone else!
