Like every other weekend, Jacob met with his friends to hang out around his garage, to work on his car or the motorcycles, or they would go cliff jumping.

Bells was Jacob’s best friend. He had been living in Forks when he was a kid, moved away and came back when he was a teenager. And although they hadn’t seen each other in years, Jacob still liked Bells the most. They shared similar thoughts and ideas; it was like they were two sides of the same coin.

The first time that Jacob realized that there was more between them, was when they were out in the field with their bikes.

“Wait up, Bells!” Jacob yelled over the roaring sound of their motorcycles.

Bells was way ahead of Jacob, driving fast through mud and grass. All of a sudden, he lost control when he didn’t see a rock in the way. With full speed, Bells crashed his bike into the nearest bush. Jacob was on his way to Bells immediately.

“Hey, man, are you alright?” Jacob jumped from his bike and went over to Bells to check if he was injured.

“Yeah, yeah, stupid rock. I so beat you, though. Did you see that?” Bells started to laugh.

Jacob exhaled in relief. “You had me worried here for a sec.”

“Nah, that’s nothing. There has to be a bigger rock, like the size of you, to sweep me really off my feet.”

Jacob stared at Bells. Maybe a second too long. Without really thinking about it, Jacob softly struck a strand of hair off Bells’ forehead. That’s when he realized the blood on his hand.

“You’re bleeding!”

Bells touched his forehead and saw the blood himself.

“It’s not that bad. I’m not feeling any pain.”

“Maybe we should get you home, anyway,” Jacob suggested.

The second time, Jacob realized that there was more between him and Bells was when he kissed him.

It was a beautiful day - for Forks anyway; no rain, only a few clouds in the sky. Jacob called Bells and met with him at the cliffs. It was the perfect weather for a jump.

Already down at the beach, before they went up the cliff, they took their clothes off and at the sight of Bells’ half-naked body, Jacob felt something twitch where it shouldn’t. Not by the sight of a man, anyway. That’s what he had thought for a long time when he tried to deny his feelings, but it became clearer and clearer that there was something about Bells that shook his view of the world.

“I’ll go first!” Bells shoved Jacob playfully out of the way and jumped with a loud yell. Jacob watched him fall and with a smile, he followed.

Exhausted from the swim; the waves were always strong, they both fell into the sand, breathing heavily.

“That was awesome!” Bells said excitedly and propped himself on his elbow.

A few drops of saltwater fell from Bells’ hair on Jacob’s chest. Jacob shuddered and goose bumps built on his skin. Lightly, Bells traced them with his fingers.

“Are you cold, Jacob?” Bells almost whispered.

“No,” Jacob whispered back and under Bells touch, his breathing increased.

“Something wrong, Jacob?”

“No,” he said again and almost stopped breathing this time when Bells’ hand moved up and down his chest, stopping shortly above Jacob’s trouser waistband.

“You shouldn’t do that,” Jacob said.

“I don’t see you stopping me,” Bells replied and kept going, up and down. “Why?” he added after a moment.

“Because…”

Jacob reached up and touched Bells’ cheek with his right hand. Then he dragged Bells down to his face until his mouth covered Bells’ softly. Bells opened Jacobs’s mouth and breathed his warm breath into his. Jacob’s hand moved down Bell’s neck and rested on his chest, while Bells’ right hand wound into Jacob’s hair and his left found its way further down into Jacob’s trousers.

But then, Jacob broke the kiss and grabbed Bells’ hand that still caressed him. Slowly, he pulled Bells’ hand out, but held it in his own.

“Wanna go for another jump?” he finally asked after a moment of silence.

Bells only smiled and helped Jacob to his feet. Together, they went back up the cliff, their hands touching every now and then while they walked.
