My LOM slash fic

OK, I actually wrote this and posted it last year but due to technical difficulties deleted it. I wasn't sure if anyone was interested in reading it again or for the first time but in honor of the finale I thought I would repost my only contribution to the fandom in my own little tribute.

I don't own anything. I'm not making any money, I'm just ( Read more... )

Hi,

Thanks for sharing this - it's really well written and the dialogue is very snappy and authentic - espcially Gene's! The slashy bits worked especially well and it's great to see s Sam/Gene pairing at last! It certainly seems you've really got under the skin of the series.

Maybe I'm being a little anal (it has been known!) but the only things that jarred with me a little were the use of American expressions or words that Brits just wouldn't use (please forgive me if you are in fact Canadian!)...the main ones I noticed were:

Ass - Brits say 'arse' (to rhyme with 'farce'), whatever the regional accent. Also the expression "You give me a pain in my ass" would sound more authtically British as simply "You're a pain in the arse."

Gotten - This would just be "got" (e.g. "I would have got help before, but I've just been so afraid..."). I have noticed the use of "gotten" increasing here in recent years, but it certainly wouldn't have been in common use in 1973.

Cell phone - We say "mobile phone", or more often, simply "mobile"

Cot - In British English, a cot is something with bars that a baby sleeps in (a "crib" to you I believe). I would say that Sam's bed is a "fold-down bed" (not as dynamic a word, I admit!)

'Hope you've found this helpful, rather than annoying. If the latter applies, please ignore!

All the best,

Thanks for the input. Lol, this is probably going to be my one and only contribution to fanfiction because I'm surprised I got this much out of my brain. Really, thank you though for reading it and I hope it entertained you.
