Author's Notes: Maria seems overly...nice...but that's only because this focuses on a very select timeframe in which she's relaxed and in a good mood. Other fics will demonstrate otherwise. I do not honestly believe that Jasper stayed with her for a good 80+ years in nothing but misery and death. This illustrates one of his more serene moments with Maria. There weren't many.
