Warnings: Not the usual cheery take on Jacob.
Author's Notes: I was inspired by the astronomical quotes in "Twilight" and "Eclipse", recent readings of Annie Dillard and Issac Asimov, and Nikki Reed's recent claim that Bella wouldn't give anything up to be with Jacob.
He would have been the sun, was the sun, is the sun, inescapable.
Without the dark, we’d never see the stars.
She is without the dark, banned from the dark, eyelids pinned open under endless light.
Sun, sunny, sunshine, sunlight, sunburn, sunstroke, sun.
The sun paints the whole sky blue and hides the stars.
Up above the world so high, like a... diamond...
In the sun’s blue dome she never sees the stars, can never see the stars, does not wish to see the stars.
If she sees the stars after a thousand years of sunlight she will go mad.
