It's been nine years since he left Forks when Edward catches her scent. The world seems to freeze as he turns, searching for her. He follows the smell to a young brunette woman sitting at a bus stop bench, huddled under her umbrella.
His phantom heart is beating so hard he can almost hear it.
Her (Bella Bella Bella) hair shifts in the wind and Edward inhales deeply.
Before he can convince himself to leave her alone, he's already asking, “Bella?”
The woman jumps and turns to face him.
Her eyes are blue.
“I'm sorry... I mistook you for someone else.”
