The Amelia body I bought on DoA arrived today, and I have to say I am positively surprised. As soon as I'd sent payment, I thought to myself... oh no not another new doll I'll have to sand the seams on. But guess what ~ there are NO seams.. or somebody else sanded them already?
The KIPS is doing nothing for me, so I'll be sueding the joints with pliver eventually. No hurry if I'm using this body for my Minimee, which we might expect in late May or early June...
And why did nobody even mention anywhere that the knees on the jointed-foot legs were double jointed? I mean, it's not an ideal construction, since both joints don't really bend properly at the same time to allow for a really extreme bend, but I bet I could get her to sit crosslegged if I tried. If the back of the thighs had some resin taken out of the back of them the knees might bend further, but its just a thought.
twigLiMBS knees work better (bend further) in that regards, and I didn't know about the SD16 knees, so I still claim them as my own invention... but its openSource.. anyone can use them and redevelop them.. I believe in the evolution of doll jointing;)
I also noticed the back and forwards torso lock, like the Aoi-Tuki body has, which locks the upper torso into a slight forward slouch or an extreme back-arch... so which came first Aoi-tuki or Olivia/Amelia?
I am wondering if there have been any changes to the SD16 girl from Olivia to Amelia or not... probably someone would have mentioned it though.. I mean people to handle their dolls and pull at the joints to have a look right??? Or is that just me?
I'm not sure what they're for, and they don't seem to be very strong, but there are magnets inside the hipjoints... very curious.
Overall I like the silhouette and proportions, although the hips could be wider considering the huge shoulders, and the waist could be thicker too, but it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. The non-jointed feet are very sexy, but without the right shoes, she can't stand on them, so I'm thinking she needs twigLimbs feet, because they are a bit bigger and won't look so thin and odd at the ends of her long and elegant legs as her default flat feet do.
