a poem, by lindsey price....

Here's a poem i wrote for 10th grade english. i read it for the first time since i wrote it way back when, and i laughed so hard. its such a silly story.

I was riding my striped dog, james,
when all of a sudden he came to a halt.
he stopped so fast that i fell into a big mudhole,
but i didnt care since i was already wearing brown.
i didnt really know where i was going,
i just wanted to try something new.
nobody would have ever thought of riding a striped dog.
neither had i, until i saw the funny litle man that told me it would bring good.
the funny little man never told me what kind of good, though
i thought, "well, just as long as its good."
So, i got on my striped dog, james, and started to ride.
we went north east toward the edge of the world,
looking for something amusing to do.
it seemed as though we'd been riding for hours
when we saw the great sight ahead of us.
we had stumbled upon the whimsical world of willie.
wilie was a tall, silly man that enjoyed visitors.
james and i walked up to willie's door and rang the peacock.
willie invited us into his up-side-down house for some mid-morning Tang.
"How do you rubadub do?" he asked me.
"I"m great, except that my dog, james, has lost his girdle. he cant fit into his Sunday best and we're off to do something fun. what if he needs to wear his suit?"
"I wish i could help you out there, but i only have a girdle for my elephant. it surely wouldn't fit your dog." he explained to me.
james and i set off on our merry way after that
in search of my kazoo that i lost in the 4th grade.
"oh look, james! i've found my kazoo!" i exclaimed.
"let's take this back home and write a sonata to play on it."
back we went, to our crooked little house to write a masterpiece.

yeah. that was weird. its a lot more lame the second time you read it. totally predictable. ;-)
