What a weekend! Got Origins Artshow wrapped up for the 2009 season, a bunch of studying done, and a surprise trip to Battle Creek, MI.
The options for the weekend were to spend time here in Columbus and in Cleveland, or to take a mystery trip. Saturday early Arcane and I hopped in the car and headed off to points unknown. Yeah car trip!!
After a stop here or there and a few hours drive we arrived in Battle Creek, MI at the Field of Flight Airshow. There was no static area per se, but there was tons of fair food, rides for kids and aerial shows to watch. It was like a county fair and an airshow in one place.
We watched the Thunderbirds for a bit, took photos (which are posted on my facebook), and then after a nap we caught the night show there. Air formations team at night in WWII "Texan" aircraft, Hot Air Balloons against the night sky, gliders that floated along with firework streamers and roman candle displays. There was even a helicopter named "Otto" that did a firework show.
It was beautiful. Even more nice was the fact that he found an airshow to take me to that I'd never been to, just off the mention that I like going to them. What can I say - I am still flattered and a bit in awe. He's a really great guy and I'm glad that we get along so well.
This week is back to the grind however - work is steady but slow right now, working on getting ahead with my class work, CPR course this Saturday to renew my certification, sewing for Pennsic. I'm still apartment and job hunting but the timeline still seems a bit blurred. Holding out for Spring at all costs but prepping lists, purging, and boxing just in case.
