Week-in-review

Sick! - Felt crappy all week. Congestion, upset stomach, sore throat, general grossness. It's probably the result of mold and pollen kicked up by the storm and the stress of a week without power. I don't think I ever ran a fever, which is generally my signal for staying home from work. A combination of vitamins and Dayquil have kept it in check, and I slept on-and-off for most of Saturday. Hopefully this will be over soon, but until then -- blargh. Oh, and apparently I've infected my wife with my plague. The good times don't stop.

Work - So I gave my shelver and receiver their reviews Friday. I put them both off until the last day possible hoping I would feel better, but that didn't happen, so I had to read them their reviews with a scratchy throat. That was fun. Other than that it went fine. They both were good reviews, so it was controversy free. The only question anybody ever has is "When does my raise begin?" I'm still weirded out by being people's "boss." They're still a big chunk of my brain that wants to do my own thing and not have to worry about the other humans at work.

Not Talking Politics - I do have to admit, "I will make them famous and you will know their names." is kind of an awesome catchphrase.

TV Funhouse - Slowly but surely catching up on TV missed from the blackout. Primeval gets my unexpectedly awesome award. Despite my better judgment, I continue to watch Gossip Girl simply for the oily, reptilian charm that is Chuck Bass. The Heroes and HIMYM premiers were meh-tastic. So far, my enthusiasm for Fringe hasn't dimmed since the pilot. Overall, not bad, but aside from Primeval's future predator/time twists/soap opera revelations my socks have yet to be knocked off.
